What Would It Be Like to Be Totally Free From Guilt? You would be free to accept and handle poor performance, because you know that your Father always differentiates between your person and your performance. Your performance will begin to change to become like your person. For as a man thinketh, so he is (Proverbs 23:7). Communication channels of godly conviction will be opened between you and the Spirit. Guilt and condemnation keep us from hearing the conviction of the Spirit.
You will cease to be slave to Satan in this area. If Satan can inflict guilt, he can control your behavior. [See the role of guilt in the addiction cycle at Weapons for the War Against Lust.] You will cease to be a slave of others. People use guilt to manipulate others.
You will be free from this manipulation. Some of us are "approval suckers." We suck approval from other people and we fear their rejection. Knowing that we have God's approval frees us from seeking it in others. Your trust and faith in the Father will increase, because you will begin to see Him as the accepting, loving, generous Father that He really is (James 1:5).
[See What Father is Like.] You will find it easier to forgive others and to accept others, because you will begin to treat them as God treats you. You will receive others, but not their performance. You will differentiate between their person and their performance.
