Scoring the Guilt Test Look first at the Total Score (the total number of statements that you circled or underlined). A total score of twenty or more represents a very high degree of guilt. A total score of four or less represents a lower degree (but still opportunity for improvement). God wants to free us from guilt feelings. IF YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN and would like to be free from guilt see our Good News page.

IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, then you need to know that all of the twenty-four statements are statements that a Christian NEVER needs to think. Continue reading to help you experience freedom from guilt. Now look at the individual numbers that you recorded under Ws, Ps, and Rs. The test has a total of eight W statements, eight P statements, and eight R statements. The letters represent various ways that we experience guilt.

We experience guilt in three ways: 1. A Sense of WORTHLESSNESS "I'm a failure" I'm not "competent", "suitable", "fit" or "capable." "How can I call myself a Christian?" 2. A Fear of PUNISHMENT "Now I'm going to get it." "I deserve to be.

.." "God will surely punish me." "Now they will be angry with me for..

." 3. A Feeling of REJECTION Fear of rejection by others "God won't love me if...

" Not being accepted because of what I did or what I think or who I am. Loss of reputation, "losing face" before others, shame. By looking at the individual numbers that you recorded under Ws, Ps, and Rs, you can tell in what area you feel the most guilt. Guilt comes from childhood experiences, experiences with religious people, our natural personality tendencies, and from Satan. But if you are a Christian, guilt never comes from God.

Does that sound like a ridiculous statement to you? God answers each area of guilt feeling: 1. Sense of WORTHLESSNESS A complete and balanced view of our worth is that we are deeply flawed, but highly prized by God. We are made in the very image of God (Genesis 1:26-27; James 3:9). We are highly valued by God (Matthew 6:30; 12:12). Even fleshly, sinning Christians (like the Corinthians) are still in the image and glory of God (1 Corinthians 11:7).

Jesus passes on to us the glory given Him by God and the Father loves us with the same love that He loves the Son (John 17:20-23)! 2. Fear of PUNISHMENT All punishment for our sins fell on Christ (Isaiah 53:5). Christ was our "propitiation" (an appeasement for the wrath of God against sin - Romans 3:25). There is no more punishment for us who are in Jesus Christ (1 John 4:15-18). God will discipline us to train us, but He will never punish us again.

[See The Difference Between Punishment and Discipline.] 3. Feeling of REJECTION No one and nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:31-39). We have God's promise that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Rejection is not an option.
